The human influence on flood generation

Like other natural phenomena, the venue of floods is a compound result of many climatic, hydrological, pedological and morphologic factors. Their magnitude and occurrence can be changed by human actionon landscape, either in urban planning or countryside management. But first we have to understand what the human influence is. As a matter of fact, sudden events can induce too quick answers, too quick inferences : indeed, intricate causal networks can easily hide the right conclusions. So, the scientific community has a need to lay down a global reflexion about this phenonmenon, so that the society should on day be able to manage it in a rather active but reasonable way.
